DIY nature-themed 2nd birthday
Happy Thursday, friends! Do you all have Earth Day plans with your little ones this Sunday? This nature-themed birthday party coming to us from mama Ashley of Woodlark is full of sweet ideas for the nature-appreciating fam. It included loads of DIY projects and even lots of found objects the birthday boy Elliot had collected on their many adventures.
Ashley found this old postcard, that a friend reproduced + printed for her, and Tina of Miss Multee hand-lettered the back of it.
Mama Ashley tells it, When I was planning the aesthetic of the party I knew I wanted to incorporate aspects that captured the magic of boyhood. It was important to me to create something that was very “Elliot”. Nature is a big part of our lives, so I used branches and leaves that he collected during our adventures to make the backdrop. I used other items that he had collected to set up a nature discovery table, and one of my good friends led a “nature weaving workshop” where the kids were able to weave nature items into their own loom.
Workshop success, right here.
I drew inspiration from Native American culture for the other elements, sourced all of the vintage decor piece by piece, and gave a nod to my previous leatherworking days by making leather pouches for the party favors.
A simple leaf backdrop is so so perfect for this little party, isn’t it?
Yep, the teepee was another DIY!

Love your creativity, mama! Happy birthday, little E.
